Love | Bruner Wedding.

14 Feb

Happy Valentine’s Day! In honor of this day of love, I am sharing the wedding invitation that Jenna and I made for the Musgrave | Bruner wedding. The hand-written names add unique details and flourishes that type just cannot offer. The art of writing is one that I have always been drawn to (no, not intentional but I’m leaving that little nugget there for you) and long to perfect. Here is one place I was able to do that and am so pleased with the outcome!

Calder Clark Designs is where it’s at. Calder is the most talented/fun/hip person I know. She creates be-a-utiful events in Charleston and anywhere you want her to go with impeccable taste and stellar design. Click on over and you can see the goodie-bags I created for the children’s table at a July wedding last year at the William Aiken House. And in true Calder fashion, it was also featured in the most recent issue of Southern Living Weddings magazine.

Inspire | Heidi Merrick.

29 Dec

Yes, it’s only almost January. I realize that the cold is only starting here on the east coast, but I can not help dreaming of warmer days and sunny rays. Heidi Merrick’s Spring 2012 collection help put me in the summery mood last night and is inspiring my own Spring/Summer 2012 line.

Southern Weddings | Ornament Swap.

21 Dec

In my daily perusing of blogs, pinterest, and the like I came across Southern Weddings website and saw this:

Each year Southern Weddings hosts an ornament swap. So many of my friends had entered calendar exchanges for the holidays so when I came across this I entered my name. Using wine corks, a hot glue gun, and some gold glitter I constructed this sweet tree ornament.

I sent out four ornaments and these were the ones I received:

I loved having Christmas packages arrive at my door each day!

Dress | One-Shoulder.

15 Dec

Here’s a little something else I’ve been working on. The thing I love most about this fabric is that it has a faint silver shimmer in the light. Originally, I bought this gold trim to enhance the look a little but haven’t finalized my thoughts on the addition.

A festive one-shoulder bow and shimmer make this dress essential for holiday parties or bridesmaids.

Holiday Party | Black + Gold.

And rocked around the Christmas tree I did, at the Charlotte City Club in this ensemble.

dress {anne marie cale}. earrings {jose and maria barrera}. ring {joyus}. shoes {christian louboutin}. clutch {lilly pulitzer}.

Topped with a Bow.

9 Dec

Hope your weekend involves sparkles, Christmas parties, and lots of laughs. The temperature has dropped quite drastically here in Charleston, but that won’t keep away little numbers like this one. I’ll be wearing one of my own designs to a Christmas party in Charlotte on Saturday, and it might just be up for grabs come Monday!

Holiday Cheer.

6 Dec

Last week I spent some much needed time in one of my favorite stores in the Old Village, Out of Hand. The ribbon and fine paper filled walls literally make me dream in glitter and gift wrap. They have the most wonderful paper products, jewelry, and gifts. Every inch of the store houses perfectly unique gifts and plenty of holiday cheer.

One day I will have an entire room devoted to paper, ribbon, buttons, and glitter. And I will probably never leave. Or have to clean it up and store it away. What a dream.
